A delegation from the European Parliament visited "Samel-90" AD

 

The guests were welcomed by the executive director Eng. Petar Georgiev and the company's team, and during the visit the main areas of the company's activity were presented - from electronic systems for defense and special communications to modern developments for civil and industrial purposes.

The meeting was attended by MEPs Marta Wishlowa from Poland, Tomas Zdechovsky from the Czech Republic, Zeljana Zovko from Croatia, and Andrey Novakov from Bulgaria, the only Bulgarian representative in the European Parliament's Committee on Security and Defense. The SEDE Committee, which consists of 43 MEPs out of a total of 720, is responsible for the European Union's Common Security and Defence Policy. It has powers in the area of legislation related to the development of defense capabilities, military mobility, and EU missions in third countries, as well as in terms of cooperation with NATO and parliamentary control over issues in this area.

In addition to the MEPs, the delegation included their assistants: Tetiana Melnik (Ukraine), Eliz Zetova, Kalin Zahariev, Momchil Kolev (Bulgaria), and Georgi Gutsiev. The guests were accompanied by Colonel Dr. Petko Petkov and a team from the Military Police Service.

During the meeting, possibilities for expanded cooperation between European institutions and Bulgarian industry in the field of defense were discussed, as well as the importance of Samel 90 as a reliable partner with over 60 years of experience and contribution to the country's technological capacity. MEPs expressed high appreciation for the company's achievements and showed interest in future joint initiatives within the framework of European security policy.
